Your First Visit Should Feel Easy.
From the moment you arrive, our goal is to make your visit clear, comfortable and organized. We’ll evaluate your oral health, explain what we see, answer your questions and help you understand your options before moving forward.
Schedule Your First VisitA Little Preparation Makes Your Visit Even Easier
Complete your forms ahead of time if you can, gather your insurance information and bring a current medication list. If you do not have everything available, come anyway—we can help you through the rest.
Complete Forms
Fill out new-patient paperwork online before your visit to save time at check-in.
Bring Your ID
Bring a photo ID and your current dental insurance information, if applicable.
Medication List
Bring your current medications, allergies and any medical information that may affect dental treatment.
Previous Records
If available, bring or send recent dental X-rays and relevant treatment records from your prior dentist.
What Happens, Step by Step
Your exact visit may vary depending on your needs, but most new-patient appointments follow this simple process.
Welcome & Check-In
Our front-desk team will welcome you, confirm your information and help with any remaining forms or insurance details.
Digital Records & X-Rays
We’ll take the images needed to evaluate your teeth, bone and surrounding structures. A 3D CT scan may be recommended when clinically appropriate.
Comprehensive Exam
Your dentist evaluates your teeth, gums, bite and overall oral health and discusses any concerns you want addressed.
Cleaning When Appropriate
Many patients can receive a routine cleaning during the first visit. If gum disease or another condition requires a different type of cleaning, we’ll explain that first.
Review Your Findings
We’ll show you what we see on your X-rays or scans and explain any findings in straightforward language.
Discuss Your Options
If treatment is needed, we’ll review the available approaches, expected sequence of care and estimated fees before you decide how to proceed.

You Should Understand Your Treatment Before It Starts

See What We See
We can review your X-rays, photos or scans with you so the discussion is visual and easier to understand.
Understand Your Options

Plan for about 60-90 minutes. This includes check-in, X-rays, a comprehensive exam, cleaning, and a one-on-one treatment plan discussion. We never rush your first visit.
We recommend it but it is not required. You can download and complete forms from our Patient Forms page ahead of time, which saves 10-15 minutes at check-in. Paper forms are also available in the office.
You are not alone, and there is no judgment here. Let us know when you book and we will make accommodations. We offer nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation for patients who need extra comfort.
In most cases, yes. If you have significant gum disease or other conditions that need attention first, we may recommend a deep cleaning at a separate appointment. We will explain everything before proceeding.
No problem. We offer an in-house Island Dental Advantage Membership plan for uninsured patients, plus flexible financing through CareCredit and HFD with 0% interest options. We will help you find a way to make care affordable.
Absolutely. We love treating whole families. You can schedule back-to-back or overlapping appointments for the whole family — just let us know when you book.
We see patients in this situation every day. There is no lecture, no guilt — just a thorough evaluation and a clear plan to get you back on track at whatever pace feels right for you.
We accept walk-ins for dental emergencies during business hours. For routine visits and new patient exams, we recommend scheduling ahead to ensure we have enough time reserved for you.
