What Are Partial Dentures?
A partial denture is a removable appliance that replaces one or more missing teeth while leaving your healthy natural teeth in place. It fills in gaps, restores chewing function, and prevents remaining teeth from shifting out of alignment.
At Island Dental, every partial is custom-designed using digital impressions and crafted in our full on-site lab. You choose from acrylic, metal framework, or flexible nylon materials — each with its own advantages depending on your situation and budget.

Getting Your Partial Denture — Today
Consultation & Exam
We evaluate your remaining teeth, take X-rays, and discuss your goals. You’ll know your options, timeline, and cost before anything starts.
Digital Impressions
Precise digital or traditional impressions capture the exact shape of your mouth. This ensures your partial fits snugly against your natural teeth and gums.
In-House Fabrication
Our on-site lab technicians craft your partial denture from scratch. Direct collaboration between your dentist and the lab means a better fit, faster.
Try-In & Adjustments
We place your partial, check the fit and bite, and make any adjustments on the spot. You leave comfortable and confident.
The Right Partial, Made the Right Way
Our on-site lab is the main difference. Most offices send partials out and make you wait — we design, craft, adjust, and repair yours right here, so they fit better and come back faster.

Types of Partials We Offer
Every mouth is different. We craft three kinds of partial dentures right in our on-site lab — and help you pick the one that fits your smile, comfort, and budget.

Flexible Partials
Lightweight, metal-free nylon that flexes with your mouth for a comfortable, nearly invisible fit — no metal clasps to show when you smile.

Cast Metal Partials
A strong, precise metal framework that’s thinner and more durable than acrylic, with a secure hold that stays put all day.

All-Acrylic Partials
A budget-friendly, easy-to-adjust option that’s simple to add teeth to later — a great choice for healing or temporary partials.

Partial Denture FAQs
Cost varies depending on the material (acrylic, metal framework, or flexible) and number of teeth being replaced. We provide a full cost breakdown at your free consultation. Insurance typically covers a portion, and we offer 0% financing with a 96% approval rate. We can make your partial the same day, immediate teeth replacement and you can choose from many options, styles and shades.
With proper care, partial dentures typically last 5–7 years before needing replacement. Regular check-ups and periodic relines help extend their lifespan. Our in-house lab handles all adjustments quickly.
Yes. After a brief adjustment period, most patients eat a wide variety of foods comfortably. We recommend starting with softer foods and gradually reintroducing harder items as you get used to your partial.
We recommend removing your partial at night to give your gums and supporting teeth a rest. Soak them in denture solution or water overnight. This also helps maintain good oral hygiene and extends the life of your partial.
Your mouth changes over time, so periodic adjustments are normal. We recommend a check-up every six months. Because we have an in-house lab, adjustments and relines can often be done the same day you visit.
