Extraction sites typically heal within 4–6 weeks, though full bone remodeling can take 3–6 months. During this time, your gums shrink and reshape, which is why relines are needed to maintain a good fit.
Stick to soft foods for the first 1–2 weeks — soups, yogurt, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs. Gradually reintroduce firmer foods as your gums heal and you adjust to your new denture.
Immediate dentures may cost slightly more than conventional dentures because they require additional appointments for relines during healing. We provide a full cost breakdown at your consultation. Insurance and 0% financing are available.
