Your Root Canal Specialist — Already Here
When you need a root canal, the last thing you want is a referral to a separate office across town, another intake form, another waiting room. At Island Dental, your endodontist is already part of the team. Your diagnosis, treatment, sedation, and follow-up crown all happen in one place.
Our endodontist uses an endodontic microscope that provides up to 25x magnification — seeing what others miss and treating even the most complex cases with precision. Most root canals are completed in about 60 minutes. Many patients tell us it was nothing like they expected. Some even fall asleep.

Our board-certified endodontist treats every case with precision and care — from routine root canals to the most complex retreatments. Everything under one roof.
Root Canal Therapy
The infected or inflamed pulp inside your tooth is removed, the canals are cleaned and sealed, and your tooth is saved. About 60 minutes. Comfortable. Effective. Most patients return to normal activity the same day.
- Completed in one comfortable visit
- Endodontic microscope for precision
- Virtually pain-free with modern anesthesia
- Crown placed same day with in-house lab
Retreatment
A previously treated tooth that hasn’t healed properly — or has developed a new infection — may need retreatment. Our endodontist removes the old filling material, cleans the canals again, and reseals the tooth.
- Saves teeth from extraction
- Advanced microscope visualization
- Identifies missed canals and persistent infection
Apicoectomy
When a standard root canal isn’t enough, an apicoectomy removes the very tip of the tooth root and seals it from the bottom. A microsurgical procedure performed with precision under magnification.
- Saves teeth that would otherwise be extracted
- Microsurgical precision
- Performed under local anesthesia or IV sedation
Cracked Tooth Diagnosis
Cracked teeth are notoriously difficult to diagnose. Our endodontist uses advanced imaging and microscope visualization to identify cracks that X-rays alone can miss — and determine whether the tooth can be saved.
- Advanced diagnostic techniques
- Endodontic microscope visualization
- Clear treatment recommendations
About 60 Minutes. Comfortable. Nothing Like You’d Expect.
Modern root canal therapy is nothing like the stories you’ve heard. Our endodontist uses advanced rotary instruments and an endodontic microscope to work precisely and efficiently. Most root canals are completed in about 60 minutes — one comfortable visit.
Afraid of the dentist? You don’t have to tough it out. Nitrous oxide and IV sedation are available, administered by our board-certified anesthesiologist on staff. Many patients choose sedation for a completely stress-free experience — and tell us afterward that they wish they hadn’t waited so long.

After Your Root Canal
Most patients return to work or normal activity the same day or the next. Some mild soreness for 2–3 days is normal and managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.
In most cases, a crown is recommended to protect the treated tooth. With our in-house lab, your crown can often be placed the same day or at a quick follow-up visit — no waiting weeks for an outside lab.
