Stabilizing Dentures Using Dental Implants

Implants stabilizing denturesAre dental implants the best way to stabilize your dentures?

Millions of people worldwide are affected by loose dentures. For them, every day is a struggle to keep their dentures in place, every meal is a challenge and every social occasion is a nightmare. Especially when it comes to lower jaw dentures nothing is 100% effective, not even adhesives.

This is why so many people wearing dentures avoid certain foods, even if their health may be suffering. If dentures slip while speaking, self-confidence is diminished and those persons won’t be able to live a normal life, like they did before. when they had their original teeth.
Luckily there is a solution that works: denture stabilization by using implants. The procedure is minimally invasive and it can be done under local anesthesia. It consists of the insertion into the jaw of two to four implants made from titanium with integrated ball tops. The bone will heal around them, just as in case of regular dental implants. The titanium alloy is one of the most bio-friendly materials, also used in joint replacements and hip implants.

The denture is modified to snap onto the implants, so it stays firmly in place, but can be removed for cleaning with only a “snap”. Cleaning will be a bit different than in case of simple dentures. The patient needs to remove the denture at night and brush the gums around the implants. Brushing is good for the gums, because it stimulates the blood flow.
