Cosmetic Gum Surgery

The procedure involves removing excess gum tissue around your teeth and, if you have receding gums or periodontal disease, involves restoring gum tissue. Using a laser allows your Island Dental Associate dentist to precisely reshape your gums to provide you with a better symmetry in your smiles while removing excess gum tissue. The laser procedure causes very little pain so a topical anesthesia is typically used and, because lasers result in almost no bleeding, your gum tissues tend to heal more quickly than regular surgery.
